All too often we hear stories of how hard it is to be a starlet or actress in modern Hollywood. Tabloids and websites are littered with news of our favorite celebrities pressing through their darkest times. However, for one rising star this is not case. Living her life and loving it, Jennia Fredrique is a single woman powerhouse taking Hollywood and hearts by storm.
Like the girl next door, Jennia is sweet, generous and drop dead gorgeous! Hailing from Gary, Indiana (birthplace of Michael Jackson) she began her acting career at the tender age of seven. However she wasn't sure if acting was her calling until one fateful night. "I was laying in bed and had a vision telling someone I could have been an actress. That's when I decided to attend theatre school." She attended Chicago Theatre School as well as traveled to faraway places like Paris (her favorite city) and Stromberg, France; London, Amsterdam and Rome. "I love traveling almost as much as I love acting." After leaving school she acquired her first acting job. "My first paid job came when I appeared in a Lugz commercial. It became really popular. In it, I met this guy, and we went back to his loft and I stole his clothes. Shortly thereafter, I did D'Angelo's video, "Cruisin;" it felt good be to doing something…"
Following her brief stints on commercials and videos, she acquired roles on a number of television shows including "City Guys," "One On One," "Passions," "Half & Half," and "Girlfriends." However, she may be most famous for her role as "Brandy" from LOGO's hit show, "Noah's ARC." As Brandy, she plays the sole recurring female character on the show. Brandy is Noah's boss and an executive at Paramount Studios who is initially a third party to a proposed threesome with Noah and Wade.
Powerful, centered and sassy, her character serves as a strong counterbalance to the dramatic lives of the other characters. She acquired the role through the talent agency she worked under owned by fellow cast member and good friend, Rodney Chester ("Alex" from Noah's ARC). "He [Alex] said I'd be perfect for the role. I loved Patrik's (the creator of the show) work! He did "Punks" and other stuff. When we shot the pilot I got $200, they shot it guerilla style but I liked it. I had no idea how awesome this project would be! I thank Patrik all the time, and thank the fans for their positive feedback."
