Thanks to Matt Rowles, Georgia State is going viral.
IndieATL, a Web-based series of live music sessions recorded at the Digital Arts Entertainment Lab studio, has reached its highest viewership yet. According to Rowles, its YouTube page now garners more than 1,200 daily hits.
It should be easy for anybody who’s had to do any sort of growing up in life to relate to the stories in Justin Taylor’s book Everything Here is the Best Thing Ever. Taylor, who is fairly new to the literary scene, is 28-years-old, lives in Brooklyn, New York, and has written an impressive amount for his age. He’s contributed to The Nation, The Believer, The New York Tyrant. and NPR, as well as guest editing an issue of the popular literary magazine McSweeney’s.
Atlanta transplant Janelle Monáe took the musical world by storm a few years ago with the release of her EP Metropolis: The Chase Suite, the first in a promised four-part series about the journeys of a futuristic android’s messianic mission.
In 2010, Monáe comes two steps closer to finishing her initial epic with the release of The ArchAndroid, the second and third parts of the Metropolis series.
